About
Welcome to Michelle Bloom Counselling Services. The following is a little bit about me.
I am a registered social worker who practices psychotherapy. I am a graduate with a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University and have an undergraduate degree in Child and Youth Care from Toronto Metropolitan University.
My professional experience - counselling both adults and young people - expands many settings, including: children’s residential care, child protection, specialized school programs and various hospital units.
My training over the last 40 years has been vast. I am certified in the Integrative Attachment Trauma and Treatment Model and trained in Attachment Focused EMDR, Somatic Therapies, Mindfulness Practice, and Self-Compassion, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
With a research focus in my MSW in secondary traumatic stress in child and youth counsellors, I have a full understanding of the impact of the work on helping professionals.
"I am not bound to succeed, but I am bound to
live up to what light I have."
